My first funds will be coming soon! I received two emails today, one from amazon.com, where I recently sold a couple of last semester’s textbooks, and one from the UTD bursar’s office, both informing me that money will be deposited into my checking account in the next few days.
Just look around you. What do you see? What is the closest thing to your right hand? Perhaps its the mouse you are using to click around on your computer. What is the first thing you see when you look away from the screen? Something hanging on your wall maybe, or the lamp on your desk. Look around you. What do you see that you or someone else paid for? Everything. The truth is, almost every single thing near you was paid for either by you or someone you know. And for everything that you spent money on, someone, somewhere received that money.
Today was a lazy day. I slept in and lounged around my apartment for a while, and then went out for a shopping adventure. Since I have no money, I obviously was not purchasing for myself; however, one of my good friends is in need of a wardrobe makeover, so a group of us decided to take him out to the mall and help him spend his paycheck on some new clothes to get his style on. Even though I did not spend a dime, I still had tons of fun helping him pick out clothes and watching him slowly, but surely, begin to get his sense of style.
This is a look back on the future’s past. This is what is, what will be, and already has been. This is the present, reformed. But only in this moment will everything fall into place, because that is all that ever is. There is nothing but the here and the now, and once its gone, it can never be again. Now is the time to seize the day, the hour, the minute. Now is the time for action, not reaction. This is the realization of a dream, because a dream in itself is nothing. A dream is but an image of the imagination, here for a moment, and if not created, gone the next. This is now.
